Maya Café was opening with Chai, specialty coffee, fresh bakes and an all-day menu. The owners had the space and the menu ready. They needed an identity: a wordmark, colours and a look that could carry from the cup to the shopfront.

Maya means magic. We made it out of one simple shape.
In Sanskrit, Maya is illusion, the everyday made magical. That’s what a good café does to an ordinary afternoon. So we built the whole identity from something ordinary: a single circle, cut into four. From those four curves came every letter, the pattern and the feel of the brand.
