A surgical society spanning two countries, with no identity to match its standing.

BRICSS, the British Indian Colorectal Surgical Society, is a UK charity founded in 2016. It supports colorectal surgeons and trainees through education, mentorship and research. From its first scientific meeting in Birmingham it has grown to more than 100 UK members and a widening circle of international affiliates. The society needed an identity that could sit on a conference stage, a member ID card and a research paper with the same authority, and that felt like a community rather than an institution.

The speciality is the colon. So the mark is made of it.

We drew the path of the colon as one simple geometric form, then placed four of them together to make a medical cross. Seen quickly, it’s a symbol of care. Look again and it’s the organ every BRICSS member has dedicated their career to. It’s a mark only a colorectal society could own.

Testimonial

“The new brand identity gives BRICSS a clear and distinctive visual presence. The team understood our vision and translated it into a cohesive identity that feels professional, considered, and true to who we are.”
